Watch: A tribute to the Higgs Boson in song

by Jul 5, 2012

There were reams of complicated sounding equations. There was applause and whistling. There were cheers and even tears. The God Particle exists!

All that was missing was a triumphant song. And then it turned out that there was one.

The Particle Physicists song

Set to a popular by Flanders and Swann, the hilarious lyrics of this song are by Danuta Orlowska. And it is interpreted by the CERN Choir, performing in the CERN Control Centre. (Yes they even have a choir)

The song’s chorus goes,

Higgs, Higgs, Glorious Higgs
The theory told theme these thingamujigs
Were so fundamental and not accidental
They got sentimental when thinking of Higgs
