Sony has announced the launch of yet another Xperia device, the Xperia M which looks as though it will be a low to mid range device.
The phone which has a 4-inch FWVGA display and a dual-core 1GHz Snapdragon S4 processor. It will run on Android 4.1 aka Jelly Bean.
Other features include 1GB RAM, a 5MP rear camera and a front VGA camera. It will also come in a dual-SIM variant known as the Xperia Mdual, the company said. The Mdual will run on Android 4.2.
Given the features, the devices look as though they will be priced in a mid to low range. The company has said that the device will be sold at "a new price point" for the firm, although it has not specified what the price point it will be. However it will be available worldwide from Q3 this year.
Xperia M and Xperia Mdual will be available in Black, White and Purple. A Yellow colour variation will also be available for the single SIM model.
Commenting on the launch, Calum MacDougall, Director of Xperia Marketing at Sony Mobile Communications, said, "Consumers looking for their first steps into the world of Xperia smartphones, would be well-advised to look at Xperia M or Xperia M dual. Both models benefit from Sony's proven innovation and engineering expertise, and are perfect for those who want the premium technology and experiences often only associated with high-end models."
