Samsung today announced a new smartphone as part of its GALAXY Ace series, the Galaxy Ace 3. This device which will be available in 3G and LTE versions depending on the market is likely to be a mid-range device.
The smartphone has a dual-core processor clocked at 1Ghz. It has a 4-inch TFT LCD screen with 480 x 800 pixels resolution. The device runs Android 4.2 version of Jelly Bean and has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front camera.
It comes with 4GB (with approx 1.77 GB memory available to user) internal memory for the 3G version and 8GB internal memory (with 5GB memory available for user) for LTE version. Both versions have 1GB RAM and a microSD slot with 64 GB as the card limit.
In terms of sensors, it has an accelerometer, a digital compass and a proximity sensor. Other features of the Ace 3 include:
• ‘S Translator’ gives instant translations.
• ‘S Travel’ provides guides and travel information for your next trip.
• ‘Smart Stay’ recognises when a user is looking at the phone, and pauses screen when user looks away.
• ‘S Voice’ offers voice command functionality aka Samsung's version of Siri.
