Apple will indeed be launching a gold iPhone, according to the latest report by trusted blog AllThingsD.
The report on AllThingsD says the new colour is not a gaudy gold but instead an “elegant” gold tone. "Think champagne, not ingot," a source said, confirming what seems to be some spot-on speculation from iMore last week. Sources said that the gold iPhone will feature a white face, with a gold-tone back plate and chamfered edging.
Images of a gold phone were also released on iMore and a picture of the shell of the phone were also spotted at Macboutic, an Apple shop in France.
AppAdvice.com has also put out exclusive high-resolution pictures of the upcoming iPhone 5S with the gold-coloured body. The report also points out that the top glass inlay appears to be large enough to accommodate the rumored dual-LED flash and the inside of the housing has a different set of mounts when compared to the iPhone 5.
Previously MacRumors had released pictures of an iPhone with a camera with dual-LED flash. The photograph showed two different coloured LED flashes next to the rear camera.
If Apple does release an iPhone with dual-LED it could lead to better white balance in photos. You could have the option of using the LED that matches the scene. It’s also rumoured that Apple will finally offer a 12-or-13 megapixel camera.
