Zoom Launches Portable HD Video Recorder with Stereo HD Sound Recording

We’ve all seen plenty of HD recorders that capture footage in Full HD, but one thing that has always been lacking is the sound quality. Well, fret not as the Zoom Q3HD Handy Video Recorder is here to fix that very issue. This seems like a really great device that not only captures video in 1080p, but also records audio in 24-bit/96kHz HD audio. I’ve actually worked in professional recording studios that record in lower sample rates than that!

Looks quite cool, doesn't it?

This HD video recorder has dual microphones so you can record audio in stereo. It also has a whole bunch of other awesome tricks up its sleeve. You can adjust audio and what’s more, it also has a built in HDMI port that enables you to hook it up with your audio system for playback.

However, there are a couple of issues. While Zoom has clearly concentrated on and improved the audio aspect of this video recorder, they’ve failed to add one essential detail – an optical lens. This means shooting from a distance may not yield the desired results. It’s also quite expensive, priced at $300, but may be worth it if you are looking for a device with great audio recording capabilities. As of now, there’s no word on when it will be available for sale in our fair country.
