Xolo LT900 with 4G LTE support, Android 4.2 to be priced at Rs 17,999

Xolo has officially launched its first smartphone with 4G support for India. The LT900 was spotted online late last year and will be available for Rs 17,999. Xolo has not yet revealed when the phone will hit stores.

The USP of the LT900 is that it supports the India-specific TDD LTE band, and is the first smartphone in company's LT series, which will enable high-speed internet once mobile operators switch on 4G services.

LT900 will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box and supports single SIM (GSM) functionality. In terms of processing power, the LT900 has the older 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with Adreno 225 GPU (clocked at 384 MHz). There’s 1GB of RAM too. The phone is in stark contrast to some of the phablets of recent times and will have 4.3-inch HD (720x1280) IPS display with One Glass Solution (OGS) and boasts of Corning Glass protection. That should make it quite compact.

Xolo's LT900 sports an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with dual-LED flash and BSI sensor and has a 1-megapixel camera on the front. The 8GB of inbuilt storage can be further expanded to 32GB via a microSD card. Worryingly though. Xolo has only packed in an 1810mAh battery which the listing claims can deliver up to 15 hours of talktime and up to 362 hours of standby time on 2G networks. With 4G being a main feature, users will obviously be streaming a lot more videos and browsing more. A bigger battery pack would have been ideal in this case.

Apart from 4G network support, connectivity options on the Xolo LT900 include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ AGPS and 3G. It comes preloaded with Skype, BigFlix, and Airtel mobile TV apps.
