After the success of the Redmi Note 4 in India, Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 4A smartphone at Rs 5,999. The smartphone features a polycarbonate body, is priced at Rs 5,999 and launches on 23 March at 12PM on Amazon.in and mi.com.
The Redmi 4A is the successor to the Redmi 3S series, the it is Xiaomi's latest sub Rs 7,000, entry-level offering. The handset was launched in China last year in November and was priced a CNY 599 (approx Rs 6,000).
The smartphone feautures a 5-inch IPS LCD screen with 1280x720 pixels display resolution. Running on Android Marshmallow OS with MiUI, the Redmi 4A is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset with a quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and an Adreno 308 GPU. There is 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of on board memory with a memory card slot for storage expansion of up to 128GB.
The primary camera is a 13 MP, f/2.2 aperture unit, while a 5 MP shooter is incharge of selfie duties on the front. The non-removable battery has a capacity of 3,120 mAh, and the device has support for dual SIM cards. The handset supports 4G networks and is VoLTE capable.
The Redmi 4A will be available in Dark Grey, Gold and Rose Gold. The Rose Gold version will go on sale on 6 April and will be exclusive to mi.com.
