Xiaomi may be planning to launch Redmi 4 in India later this month. The launch comes after the company launched Xiaomi Redmi 4A back in March. Manu Kumar Jain, Vice President for Xiaomi and Managing Director for Xiaomi India teased the announcement on Twitter terming it as ‘the 2nd BIG announcement of the month.’ The company is marketing the upcoming smartphone from Xiaomi with the hashtag #PowerInYourHand.

Xiaomi launched the Redmi 4 back in November 2016 in China with 5-inch HD screen with IPS LCD display panel and Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 out of the box. The smartphone will pack Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 clocked at 1.4 GHz along with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. Redmi 4 will be powered by a 4,100 mAh lithium-polymer battery with fast battery charging. Xiaomi has added 4G-enabled dual nano-SIM slots in the smartphones with the second SIM slot working as a hybrid with nano-SIM or a microSD card slot at any given time.
You can expand the storage space by adding a microSD card up to 256 GB in capacity. The company has added a 13 MP camera module along with f/2.2 aperture and phase detection autofocus and a LED flash at the back of the smartphone.The device sports a 5 MP camera module with a f/2.2 aperture on the front. Redmi 4 is expected to pack a fingerprint scanner at the back, accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity and compass sensors.
The smartphone will come with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, Infrared port, FM Radio, microUSB 2.0, and 3.5-mm headphone jack as connectivity options. We are not expecting any changes in the device from what was launched in China.
