The interesting thing to note about this device is the fact that this device will not come with Qualcomm or MediaTek processors. Instead, the device will sport Surge S2 processor, the second generation of the in-house processor that Xiaomi designed to compete with custom-designed processors from technology giants like Samsung and Apple.

According to a post on Chinese social media micro blogging website, Weibo, Xiaomi Mi 6C is likely to be a lighter and watered-down version of the flagship Xiaomi Mi 6. The post points out that Xiaomi has used 16-nm fabrication process to manufacture the Surge S2. Surge S2 will be an octa-core processor with four A73 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and four A53 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz along with Mali-G71MP12. The device is likely to pack a 12 MP camera module on the back along with a 5 MP camera module on the front.

The lower variant is expected to be priced at about 1999 RMB which converts to about Rs 18,920 at the time of writing and the high-end variant is likely to be priced at 2499 RMB which amounts to about Rs 23,652 at the time of writing.
