WishTel announces Ira Comet HD tablet

WishTel, the maker of tablets Ira and Ira Thing, has announced the launch of a tablet with a larger screen size in the same range, called Ira Comet HD. Priced at Rs 9,999, Ira Comet HD has a large 10.1-inch TFT LED multi-touch capacitive touchscreen that runs on Android v4.0 (Ice Cream sandwich), and is powered by a 1.2GHz processor with 1GB RAM.

According to an official statement by Wishtel, Ira Comet HD boasts of advanced 3D graphic enhancers and multimedia, connectivity, and computing capabilities with a range of essential ports and smart features. It features the 3D live effect.

Over 1,000 hours of educational video content, course materials for 12-month and 24-month programmes of IIT - JEE entrance, Medical AIPMT, study material for CAT and GMAT entrance exams, and school curricula of CBSE and ICSE recognised by renowned institutions are made available on the Ira Comet 3D tablet for students at a special subscription cost. 

Under the hood, the tablet has an 8GB internal memory, and an expandable memory of up to 32GB. It comes with a 2.0MP rear camera and a VGA front camera. It supports HD content at 1080p using a component video or digital input as well as HDMI output. The tablet comes engineered with a 5,500mAh battery, which can give users a browsing time of approximately 5 to 6 hours.

The device is portable and connects through 3G with an external USB port and Wi-Fi. The tablet also comes with a rich set of personal productivity tools, and apps for social media, Microsoft Office, communications, and entertainment. The device also comprises G Sensor which is 4-dimensional gravity sensor used for gaming.

Ira Comet HD is priced at Rs 9,999, and will be made available through retail outlets across all cities in India. It is available through leading e-commerce websites, and WishTel’s official website. It also bundles an HDMI cable, a wireless headphone, a WLAN to USB port cable, and a card reader.
