Windows 8 is making quite a splash on the internet. From its rumoured appearance as the OS for the ‘Windows’ Tablet to the inclusion of Hybrid Booting, Portable Workspaces as well as an app store. We also reported that Microsoft is quietly sending out pre-release builds to various OEM manufacturers.
...and there will be leaks.
But what was talked about the most was the leaked beta which was made available on the internet a few months ago. Now it seems that a new version has been leaked as well. According to members of the BetaArchives.com, Windows 8 version 6.2.7955.0 milestone 2 has been leaked and is available via their FTP servers. This is the second such leaked in the last few months. This new release also adds webcam support, a new task manager as well as a PDF reader and a browser in addition to the new ribbon UI that is used in current versions of MS Office.
Microsoft is taking a big step forward with Windows 8, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has already called Microsoft’s ‘riskest product bet yet’. But with over 350 million licenses sold in the eighteen months since Windows 7 release, he can maybe afford to breathe a sigh of relief
