WhatsApp update for iOS adds automatic albums, quick reply and photo filters

WhatsApp has just received a new update for iOS that brings in photo filters, automatic albums in chats, and the ability to send quick replies.

When a user sends or receive four or more photos or videos in WhatsApp, the latest update will automatically group all the photos into one single album. You can then tap on it open the album to view all the items that were sent. We reported about this feature back in April when we saw some leaked screenshots on a beta update.

The new update also introduces filters that can be added directly to GIFs, photos, and videos shared via WhatsApp camera. Users can also choose existing media on their device to add any of the five filter options which includes pop, black and white, cool, chrome, and film.

Lastly the update also sees the addition of a new quick reply shortcut. By swiping right on any message a user will be able to quickly jump in and start typing a message reply.

The new update has started to roll out on iOS. There is no such update for Android users but one should expect to see that soon in the coming few days.
