Watch Dog pre-order bonuses leaked

Ubisoft seems to be planning some pre-order bonuses for its upcoming sci-fi game Watch Dogs. An image has been leaked, courtesy of Russian blog HamsteRReality, showing us the pre-order bonuses that one can expect should they buy the game from Ubisoft's digital distribution platform Uplay. As with all leaks, the credibility of this one is dubious as well, but it certainly looks like it could be the real deal.

Pre-ordering the game is expected to get you a bunch of in-game goodies. For the single player, you'll get a 1920s Chicago Outfit complete with Tommy Gun so you can pretend to be a gangster from the 20s. Along with this, there's also a Cyberpunk skin along with a cyberpunk-looking gun. The multiplayer bonuses include three skins, some new perks and faction tags so you can represent your faction.

Watch Dogs is set in Chicago in a future. Much like almost every other sci-fi setting, this future is run by megacorporations and the "Central Operating System", which is a massive software that monitors and manages all aspects of city life. You play Aiden Pearce—a rebellious hacker out to take the establishment down.

There will also be a co-op mode. The gameplay video shown during the announcement of the game at last year's E3 showed a second player character who covered Pearce from the rooftops. The developers have also stated that the game will have asynchronous multiplayer, and during the gameplay demo that was shown during the PlayStation 4 unveiling, you could notice a security camera that got randomly hacked by someone other than the player character.

From what we've seen of the game so far, it looks like a rather ambitious mix between Deus Ex, Assassin's Creed and Grand Theft Auto. The original announcement demo was run on a PC, but the game will be making its way to the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and the Wii U. So far, there has been no release date announced.

With the new generation of consoles just around the corner and Yves Guillemot's earlier argument about new console generations promoting new IPs, one could speculate that Watch Dogs will replace the Assassin's Creed series as Ubisoft's flagship title. This wouldn't be a very far fetched idea as Ubisoft has finished off the story of the main protagonist of Assassin's Creed—Desmond—in Assassin's Creed III.

While this doesn't necessarily mean that we won't get an Assassin's Creed game after Black Flag, the series will probably not be as grand as it is right now.
