At the Video Game Awards held yesterday on Spike TV there were tons of so called "megatons" dropped on the masses. While most of these were predictable, hearing them being announced officially was just plain awesome.
Now I didn’t catch the show live so I don’t know the order in which they were announced but here are some of the announcements that made me a happy panda.
Batman Arkham Asylum 2
Yeah we all saw this coming but watching the teaser trailer sent goose bumps up my spine. From the trailer it seemed the game would now take place in Gotham City and if all goes well take the free roaming route I had hoped for. Either way we’ll get to know more in the coming days.
Medal of Honor
EA has been talking about kickstarting their Medal of Honor franchise since a while now and it seems they’re now going the Modern Warfare way by shifting the action to modern day Afghanistan. Expect tons of controversy to surround this title as well when it releases sometime in 2010.
Now this announcement did take me by surprise as the last two True Crime games weren’t commercially viable but yeah it seems Activision is gonna churn out a new True Crime game next year not developed by Luxoflux by the way. The game will take place in Hong Kong this time round and will task players with infiltrating a criminal organization. The trailer looked pretty sweet and gave away quite a few details regarding gameplay.
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands
Based on the upcoming movie of the same name the new Prince of Persia game looks like a tribute to Sands of Time. And we all know that can’t be a bad thing. Right?
Star Wars – The Force Unleashed 2
Even though I wasn’t too kicked with the first game I’m curious to see how Lucasarts can improve physical gameplay this time round since they really didn’t utilize all three Physics engines too well with TFU.
