Gingerbread seems to be going good of late. Well at least when it comes to rolling out the updates. Just some days back, the Galaxy S started getting some genuine Gingerbread love (in the sense that there aren’t any complains about devices bricking or something). Now it’s time for Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Arc and Xperia Play to bite into the sweet dish.
Let's hope it makes for a nice Facebook Xperia-nce
Sony Ericsson had earlier made announcements that these two smartphones will be getting updates soon, but then the dates weren’t mentioned specifically. As per Sony Ericsson’s blog post, the update has started rolling out for the Arc and Play. However, it’s quite possible that you won’t be getting the update just yet. The Gingerbread 2.3.3 updates will be rolled out in a phased manner, so you can check and see if your handset is amongst the lucky ones.
One of the major highlights is Facebook inside Xperia that means that you can share and “like” stuff through the built-in feature which is made to work through SE’s Timescape UI. Apart from that, the following improvements will be made by the update:
- Battery performance
- General software stability
- Wi-Fi stability
- HD Video recording performance (Xperia arc)
- Touch responsiveness
