Toshiba revamps PC line-up with new Satellite Series and AiO

Toshiba is slated to launch a new series of laptops and desktops with Intel’s fourth-generation of core microprocessors, previously tagged “Haswell”.

Toshiba is the latest company to jump in on the wave of Intel released laptop and desktop chips. The fourth-generation chips are said to substantially help improve the integrated graphics performance and help cut power consumption,

According to VB, Toshiba’s new Satellite P Series and S Series laptops will be using the latest quad-core Intel Core processors. The P Series laptops will be available in15.6-inch and 17.3-inch diagonal touch or static screens variations. In terms of storage, it comes with hard drives which can support up to 1TB, with the main memory configurable up to 32GB, as well as an optional Nvidia GeForce GT 740M graphics.

Toshiba is also coming up with Satellite S Series laptops. The S series will come with 14-inch, 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch diagonal screens. Additionally, the S series comes with large touchpads that support gesture support, storage capacity which can be upgraded to support 1TB and up to 16GB of main memory. Both the S series and the P series will be housed in a brushed aluminium chassis. 


The S series, like the P series, will also include a multitude of USB 3.0 and HDMI ports, as well as Haswell processors and optional Nvidia graphics. According to the company, the P Series laptops will be available online from Sunday at Best Buy stores exclusively, while the S Series will be available across the market on that same day. However, the price tags which the P and S series will come in with have still not been announced.


Another laptop that Toshiba is launching is its new Qosmio X75, which has been tagged as an “enthusiast class” laptop. Priced at $1,549 (Rs 87,746 approx), the Qosmio gaming laptop has a fourth-generation Core i7 quad-core processor as well as a 17.3-inch screen. According to the company, the X75 comes in “Black Widow” styling with brushed aluminium like the rest of the new launches and will feature a Nvidia GeForce GTX 770M mobile graphics chip.


Toshiba’s AiO series has also been brushed up, with the all-in-one touchscreen desktop, the PX35t. Priced at $1,029 (Rs 58,290 approx), the PX35t comes with a big-screen TV, PC and multimedia features. With a 23-inch high-definition touchscreen display, up to 16GB of main memory and a multitude of Core processors to choose from, the PX35t should be a good option for many buyers. Further add-ons like speech recognition and DTS Studio Sound sweeten the deal. Both the Qosmio X75 and the PX35t will be available in markets from June 10 onwards.
