For its price, it manages to pack in a 4-inch WVGA display and 8 GB of storage which is expandable up to 32 GB. The A40 also has a 2 MP primary camera and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera for the odd selfie.

The Xolo Era 2 is priced at Rs 4,399 on Flipkart and comes with 4G VoLTE capabilities. This dual SIM phone also comes with 5-inch FWVGA display with an ample 2350 mAh battery. The camera on the Era 2 is no slouch either. It sports a 5 MP f/2.0 primary camera with flash as well as a 5 MP front camera with an LED flash.

Inside, it is run by a 1.3 GHz Spreadtrum processor with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage. Storage is expandable to 32 GB via a microSD card.

For under Rs 5000, the smartphone comes with a 64-bit Mediatek MT6737V quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz. The Aqua 5.5 VR also gets a 5 MP primary camera with dual-LED flash and a 5 MP camera on the front for selfies.

The front camera comes with an LED flash along with a number of preset modes for selfie lovers. The Intex Aqua 5.5 VR also gets a sizable 2800 mAh battery and dual 4G LTE SIM card support.

While the Redmi 4A does sell like hot cakes running out of stock online quite often, they are currently up for sale on both Xiaomi's own e-commerce platform Mi.com as well as on Amazon through third-party sellers.

The highlights of the Beyond is its 5.5-inch IPS Full HD display and Qualcomm's 1.4 GHz Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor. It also gets a large 4000 mAh battery and a fingerprint scanner on the back.

We cheated here a little bit and sneaked in the Redmi 4 into this list though it does exceed the Rs 8,000 limit. This is because the Redmi 4 is available on Amazon at a price of Rs 8,499 currently for the 32 GB storage variant.

The Redmi 4 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor along with an Adreno 505 GPU and 3 GB of RAM. The smartphone also comes in an anodised aluminium frame along with a 4,100 mAh battery.
