Third Attack on Sony Expected This Week

According to a report by CNET, hackers are planning a third cyber attack on Sony by the end of this week. Things seems to be getting from bad to worse for Sony just when the PlayStation and Qriocity networks were being globally restored. These allegations came from an observer of the Relay Chat channel used by the hackers, who apparently saw the talk and informed the tech website.

Hackers threaten third cyber attack on Sony

In the article we reported yesterday, Sony claimed that hacker group Anonymous was responsible for the attack with their name being on one of the servers with the words ‘We are Legion’ in it. However, the group promptly issued a statement claiming that they were not responsible for the attacks and that they were a distributed and decentralized group and that their leadership does not condone credit card theft.

The hackers responsible allegedly claim to have access to some Sony servers. They warn that they will publicize the information they acquire which include personal information of users’ of Sony networks which are credit card numbers, usernames, passwords and other account details.

It is still not known who the hackers are and when the CNET requested Sony for a comment, there was no word from them as of yet.
