The new Apple iPad lineup might be unveiled on 4 April alongside the opening of Apple Park

We’re expecting a brand new lineup of Apple iPads anytime in the next 30 days or so. Fresh rumours suggest that we’ll see the new devices on 4 April, alongside a launch event of sorts.

The rumour, originating at the Apple World Today blog, emerges from speculation based on the fact that Apple will not ship new 12.9-inch iPad Pros until 4 April 2017. The device is currently out of stock.

It’s not much to go on, but Apple World Today’s guess is as good as ours on this matter. Apple is yet to send out invites to an event, which has historically been held in early or late March. It’s equally possible that Apple will hold the event in late March with a promise to ship devices a week later, i.e. 4 April.

Lending credence to Apple World Today’s speculation, however, is the fact that Apple’s new campus and HQ, Apple Park, is scheduled to open in April.

Speaking of new iPads, we’re expecting to see a brand new, 10.5-inch iPad to replace the existing 9.7-inch iPad Air 2, a new 12.9-inch iPad Pro and a new 9.7-inch iPad Pro. There’s no word on an updated iPad Mini and at this point, one can assume that we won’t be seeing one this year.
