We are in Hawaii for AMD’s big launch. Not only are we going to see the next-gen GPUs, but a few software surprises are in store as well.
The new card is rumoured to have “Hawaii” as the internal codename, which would make sense why they chose this location to launch it. It is likely to feature AMD’s new Graphics Core Next 2.0 (GCN 2.0) architecture and will still be built on the 28nm fabrication process by TSMC. The new card is also expected to have a new naming convention. In addition, we will see some new software which will help developers use the GCN for upcoming consoles as well as PC games.
