It has been quite a while, since we heard about Sony Ericsson’s upcoming handset, Nozomi. The last bit of information that was made public was that it would come in a black option as well, which was somewhere around mid-December. However, Sony Ericsson has put up a teaser image on Facebook with the caption, “We’re gearing up for some interesting news next week… what do you think it could be?”
What is it that could be launched?
Taking a gander at this question, one would tend to believe that it could probably be the Sony Ericsson Nozomi, since it has popped up a lot in the recent past. From the image, we can see a girl in a blue top holding a fairly large handset, which further justifies our guess that it is probably the Nozomi itself, as it features a large 4.3-inch display. However, details of another handset have been doing the rounds, which come in the form of the Nyphon. But, we think that this is highly unlikely as the Nyphon is rumoured to be the first Sony branded handset as opposed to the Sony Ericsson branding. The branding is rumoured to be changed somewhere, around mid 2012, so this justifies our doubt.
Here is a quick look at the rumoured specifications of the Nozomi:
- Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread
- 4.3-inch HD LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720
- 12MP camera with full HD video recording capabilities
- 1GB RAM
- 16 or 32GB ROM
- No MicroSD card support
- HDMI port
- 1750 mAh battery
From the Facebook announcement, it is believed that the handset will be launched during CES. But it could all change and Sony Ericsson could surprise us by unveiling something totally different. Let us know what you think may be launched next week.
