Sony has announced the free games that PlayStation Plus subscribers will be getting in December on the PlayStation blog. While November's PlayStation Plus offering was headlined by Crysis 2, the headlining game for the month of December will be Batman: Arkham City.
The other games that will be available to subscribers are Limbo, Vanquish, Big Sky Infinity and Knytt Underground for the PlayStation 3, and Big Sky Infinity, Mortal Kombat and Knytt Underground for the PlayStation Vita. Arkham City, Limbo and Vanquish will be available from December 5, Big Sky Infinity will be available from December 12, Mortal Kombat will be available from December 19 and Knytt Underground will be available from December 21.

Sony will also be removing games from the Instant Games Collection. Crysis, Scott Pilgrim vs The World and Double Dragon Neon for the PlayStation 3 will be removed on December 5, Chronovolt for the PlayStation Vita will be removed on December 19, and Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack will be removed on December 21.
If you have already downloaded the game, you can still play them for as long as your PlayStation Plus subscription is active.
Sony had brought the PlayStation Plus service to the PlayStation Vita on November 19. The service was brought to the Vita as part of the PS Vita system Software Update numbered 2.00.
All the benefits of the PS Plus subscription from the PlayStation 3 apply to the PS Vita as well, including exclusive discounts and bonus features. A PS Plus subscription also gives you the ability to store game save files on Sony's cloud.
Once you update your PS Vita to v2.00 and PS Store publishes next Tuesday, PS Plus members will be able to download the Instant Game Collection, which includes PS Vita games Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Jet Set Radio HD, WipEout 2048, Gravity Rush and Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack!, as well as Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions - which was originally a PlayStation Portable game.
Those who are already subscribed to PS Plus through the PlayStation 3 will be able to use PS Plus on the PS Vita at no additional cost.
The free games for November on PS Plus were Crysis 2, Ratchet and Clank All 4 One, and Cubixx HD. Along with this, Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition and Bulletstorm are still available for download from October.
Ratchet and Clank All 4 One is an action/ platformer game that allows players to play as Ratchet, Clank, Captain Qwark and Dr Nefarious in Co-operative gameplay. In four-player story quests, you must work together using each character's unique skills as well as sharing weapons between players in order to solve puzzles and eliminate the opposition.
Cubixx HD is a fast paced puzzle game that has 50 arcade levels to work through along with 50 challenges to test your skills. There are also 150 online leaderboards available, or you can join forces with your friends in the seven-player co-operative mode. There is also a seven-player deathmatch.
