Sony Ericsson may not have announced the Xperia Mini Pro SK17i officially; however, it has made an appearance on flipkart and is available for immediate purchase.
Our earlier reports of the Xperia Mini Pro sporting a larger screen have been confirmed with the newest model having a 3-inch capacitive display (320x480 pixels) as compared to the 2.55-inch of the previous model. Besides the screen upgrade, it also includes a faster 1GHz Snapdragon processor with 512MB of RAM, a VGA front camera and a larger, improved keypad.

The Mini Pro SK17i retains the slider form along with Timescape UI that featured with the older model and runs on Android’s Gingerbread 2.3 OS. However, the three physical buttons in the older model have been replaced with a single physical home button and two capacitive buttons. The 1200 mAh lithium-ion battery provides a talk time of 5.8 hours and 331 hours of standby time. The internal storage is just 320 MB but can be upgraded to 32 GB with the Micro SD card. The phone is DLNA certified, which means users can wirelessly connect it to DLNA-enabled devices for picture and video playback on a larger screen. Also bundled is Sony’s xLOUD technology driver speaker that claims to provide a better audio experience via the 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Flipkart has priced the smartphone at Rs.15,399. The MRP, however, will obviously be a little higher with Sony’s impending announcement. Specs wise, it seems like a pretty big leap from the older version, however, the price bracket is almost similar to the first Mini Pro model.
