This new handset that’s expected from Sony Ericsson could be their first attempt at a candy bar QWERTY model. Their P1i featured more of a semi-QWERTY keypad and their Xperia X1 came with slide out version. This handset, dubbed the Faith aside from being a Windows Mobile 6.5 handset running on a Qualcomm MSM7227 processor at 600MHz, is also part of their new Greenheart series.
The Faith has been reported to feature -
- a 2.4-inch TFT LCD with a 320 x 240 pixel resolution
- 3G, EDGE
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, USB
- GPS with A-GPS support
- 3.2MP camera
- MicroSD card support
- 3.5mm handsfree port
Perhaps they thought it was finally time to get into this arena and compete a little more fiercely with the likes of Nokia’s E-Series and Samsung’s Omnia Pro. The Faith, when launched would be available in Silver and Black. The pricing is yet to be announced.
A couple of the reports have also mentioned that the handset has "Panels for 24 hours life", which is still a bit of mystery as to its meaning. Could we expect to see solar panels on the device? Your guess is as good as mine - we’ll just have to wait and see.
