Ever since the Dead Space franchise, EA have taken a serious liking to the horror genre. In fact, just a month ago, EA’s main man, Frank Gibeau said EA had long term investments in this genre. As developer Visceral Games, work on Dead Space 3 and a new, unknown IP, whacky Japanese developer Suda51 is busy collaborating with EA on a brand new game called Shadows of the Damned.
No this is not ketchup
The game was supposed to release on the 7th of June 2011, which just so happens to be the first day of E3 2011. This obviously wouldn’t be a very wise move as pretty every gamer on the planet would be glued to the internet, waiting for some earth shattering announcement to come out of that event and rock their world.
So now, after careful consideration, EA have bumped up the game’s release date for both the Xbox360 and PS3 by two weeks. Shadows of the Damned will now hit stores worldwide by the 21st of June 2011.
Thanks to Game Informer for the heads up.
