Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Rooted Already

Earlier today, we told you about Google giving away around 5,000 units of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Well, what happened after that really shouldn’t surprise anyone, even if the speed at which it was accomplished does raise an eyebrow or two.

Thinner, Lighter! Better?

Root, root, root your tablet!

Yes, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 that was distributed to I/O attendees has been rooted already. The rooting process also seems ridiculously simple, as the folks at AllDroid have shown. In case you’re interested, you can check out the instructions here.

However, it is worth keeping in mind that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 version that was distributed at I/O is not likely to be the same as the one hurtling towards a worldwide release. The I/O version didn’t include Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz interface, and instead ran a stock version of Android Honeycomb. So it is very likely this will be fixed before the official release. Either way, we’ll have to wait to find out.
