Samsung Galaxy Pro Has Android Froyo, QWERTY keypad

Although the Samsung Chat 335 was a good QWERTY mobile phone, a little sprinkle of Android will do it no harm! According to SamsungHub, Samsung seems to have done something very similar by announcing the Galaxy Pro. This smartphone runs on Android Froyo and has some decent specs, although we don’t know all of it.

A professional Galaxy? Maybe...

The Galaxy Pro has a four-row QWERTY keypad and is powered by a 800 MHz processor with a TouchWiz UI running on top of the Android Froyo OS. There’s not much to talk about in terms of specs, but this is what we know:

  • 2.8-inch Touchscreen with a QWERTY keypad
  • Wi-Fi
  • 3 Megapixel camera

While these specs look good, the size of the display doesn’t sound too good at 2.8-inches (remember the Flipout?). The only difference is that this one’s a candy-bar phone so it shouldn’t be too difficult to hold and use the display simultaneously.

The Galaxy Pro at this stage looks pretty decent for an Android-based QWERTY smartphone. However there’s no mention of the launch date or the price. Three UK apparently has confirmed the Galaxy Pro’s launch in the UK. So, we hope it comes to India soon.
