Samsung Developers launches Theme Designer 2.0 with bada 2.0 support

Yesterday, Samsung Developers issued a press release stating the official launch of their latest version of Theme Designer 2.0, which now comes with full bada 2.0 support. This software is an authoring tool for designers and developers to create themes for bada OS phones like the Wave 3 and the Wave M. This allows designers and developers to create their own themes and distribute them to users via Samsung Apps. The software also ensures that even novice users can go about building their custom themes through an easy-to-use interface.

The new features added in this release are as follows:

  • Flash Support – bada 2.0 supports themes that can contain .SWF content for the idle screen or lock screen. The idle screen content is displayed like a wallpaper whereas the lock screen theme is displayed when the device is locked.

  • bada Flash Extension Services – This gives the developer the ability to control device specific operations like the vibrator, power management, music player, etc. It gives you the flexibility to create better media content.

Here’s a short video from Samsung showing you how it’s done.
