Salora's new smartphone, Powermaxx, packs a 3200mAh battery

Salora International has launched a high performance and energy efficient smartphone, dubbed the PowerMaxx. The smartphone is powered by a Cortex-A9 1GHz Dual Core Processor and runs on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The PowerMaxx has a 3200mAh battery in a slim body, which keeps it powered for nearly 430 hours lending it an edge over others, claims the company. The smartphone is capable of supporting 22 hrs of 3G talktime, 42 hrs of playing music, 10 hrs of playing video, 11 hrs of 3G networking and 13 hrs of Wi-Fi usage. The company maintains that the battery uses a new generation material and cells which has more power and reduces energy wastage.

Speaking on the occasion of the launch Chairman and Managing Director of Salora Gopal Kumar Jiwarajka said, “We are extremely excited on the launch of Salora Powermaxx. The smartphone’s surface shell is made of forging aluminum alloy with a special fibre drawing technology. The Vacuum Plating Matte Surface is made of Plastic Drying Grain material with spraying Matte Surface technology.

The phone sports a 4.5-inch IPS LCD (qHD) screen with a resolution of 960 x 540. This lends it a viewing angle of 180 degrees. Salora claims that its Advanced Assembly Technology with ‘Zero Air Gap’ makes the display clearer, colourful, fast and dust free. This technology uses High strength single layer toughened glass which makes it more firm, durable, Anti Fingerprint, Anti scratch and ultra thin. Its reflection display technology can keep the display colourful as usual in sunshine.

The Salora Powermaxx operates on the Android ICS 4.0 platform, which is upgradable to Jelly Bean 4.1. Under the hood, the phone has 4GB of internal memory, and 512MB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is expandable up to 32GB via MicroSD.

The phone sports a ‘Dual Mic Design’, which according to the company gives a voice service that is free of ambient noise. It also has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 1.3 MP front facing camera and a 8 megapixel rear camera that has autofocus. The camera supports 720p HD video recording. In addition, the camera also has features such as Auto focus, optical image stabilization, panorama view, speed multi shot speed multi shot and time lapse video, smile shutter and automatic ambient detection etc.

The Salora Powermaxx is available at a price of Rs 15,999.
