Rumors Whisper Of LG Star Phone Having A Dual Core CPU

Some weeks back, we told you that LG has been developing smartphones with Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processors. Now rumors have it that the ‘Star’ runs on Android, records video at 1080p and has an 8 MP camera.

In case the above specs don’t impress you, we have some more on the kind of processing that the phone should be able to do. A dual-core Cortex A9 CPU with unknown frequency and Nvidia Tegra 2 which encodes and decodes Full HD videos (which it has to, if the camera records video in Full HD resolution). It also features a video call camera, microSD card slot, microUSB port and a 1500mAh battery. Some good news for Android users is that the OS will have minimal customizations and thus will be easier to upgrade.

A "Star" studded performance? Let's hope

The LG Star should be launching early next year, so if it really can do all that it promises, especially if processor speeds reach 1.2 GHz. It’s got the potential, it looks solid to be tough competition to many touchscreen smartphones out there, do we see a smartphone world war brewing at the turn of next year? You can only guess.
