Apple launched their first retail store 10 years back on the 19th of May. Reports now suggest that Apple may be preparing for a launch of a new product or service to celebrate the anniversary.
New product from Apple?
According to an article by Boy Genius Report, inside sources are informing them that there are overnight shifts planned for ten to fifteen employees at each Apple Store to work from late Saturday all the way through mid Sunday. During these shifts it is required that employees lock cell phones in the main office and also sign an NDA with Apple. Further to this there are a variety of roles for individuals who are doing the overnight shift. These roles include all visuals staff, a manager, a business team member, a few Genius team members, one back-of-house employee, and a few generic Apple specialists.
The report goes on to say that Apple stores have already received hardware to install and are expecting more hardware to come by Friday or Saturday and that all materials received by Apple stores are to be kept under lock and key until after closing on Saturday night. Apple employees will be putting up black curtains on all the Apple stores so that people outside cannot look in. And finally all Apple Stores have mandatory meetings on Sunday the 22nd of May with most meetings scheduled for the morning but some meetings are planned for the evenings, as well.
