RIM's BlackBerry Playbook Could Get Bluetooth Keyboard Accessory

Although RIM’s recently launched PlayBook hasn’t met with the very best of reviews, I guess the company still has a few hopes. In the accessories department, a new addition is apparently due to arrive this summer.

According to Pocket-lint, RIM’s head of accessories, Bruce Winter, has more or less revealed that a full QWERTY dock/keyboard is on its way. The device will hook up to the PlayBook via Bluetooth, which isn’t necessarily a good thing considering the fact that Bluetooth does tend to wane on a device's battery life. The company has made no official announcement but it’s quite possible that this tablet too would sooner or later get an accessory like this seeing as it is a trend.

Will this make things better?

As of now, RIM is not confirming or denying the availability of this keyboard but it won’t be long I’m sure, till we hear more on this front. Stay tuned.
