There are reports on social media that consumers were able to obtain Jio sim cards for any 4G phone.

The Jio preview offer was recently made available to select LG and Samsung models. The preview offer allows customers to avail 90 days of unlimited free calling and data. The procedure requires a printout of code generated from an installation of the MyJio app on the device. However, some reports have surfaced claiming anyone with a 4G phone can avail of the offer from local Reliance Digital stores, on handsets that were not of LG, Lyf or Samsung.

The official Jio customer care Twitter account has responded to queries on the matter by confirming that the Jio SIM is currently available only for Lyf and Samsung phones. The official Reliance Digital Twitter account says the offer is only valid for Lyf, LG, Samsung and Apple devices.
