Reliance Communications offers Rs 299 unlimited data, calling and SMS offer to its customers

Reliance Communication has joined the telco tariff war with a RS 299 plan that offers unlimited everything. For a monthly rental of Rs 299 a month, RCom will give you unlimited SMS, unlimited calls and unlimited data.

Advertising the offer as being “cheaper than a pair of shoes”, the offer is apparently open to all RCom customers. Further details are unavailable at this time and it’s unclear how long the offer will last.

A tweet posted by the company simply links to a web page that asks you to enter a 10-digit number, an amount for a recharge and then to proceed to payment.

Some are seeing RCom’s offer as a counter to Reliance Jio’s Dhan Dhana Dhan offer, which offers 1 GB of free 4G data per day and unlimited calls and SMS for 56 days for Rs 309. The offer was earlier limited to 28 days.

Since the details of the RCom 299 offer are unavailable, we don’t know if there’s an FUP (fair usage policy) cap or a daily 4G data limit as with Reliance Jio.

Reliance Communications Ltd. was founded by Anil Ambani in 2002 and provides GSM, broadband and DTH services. It is the sixth largest telecom operator in the country.

Disclosure: Reliance Industries Ltd. is the sole beneficiary of Independent Media Trust, which controls Network18 Media & Investments Ltd.
