According to a report by All Things D, her resignation letter states, “I have spent my years at Facebook pouring my heart and soul into innovating and pushing the media industry forward by introducing new concepts around live, social, participatory viewing that the media industry has since adopted. We have made incredible progress, but there is still much to be done and other ways I can affect change. Now is the perfect time for me to move outside of Facebook to build a company focused on the exciting trends underway in the media industry.” Facebook released a statement confirming her departure by saying that Randi decided to leave Facebook to start her own company. They went on to add that they were all grateful for her important service.

Randi Zuckerberg is believed to be naming her new company – RtoZ Media. Sources have informed All Things D that she had been on maternity leave for the last three months. In this time she was free to reflect on what to do in the next stage of her career. The report states that by leaving Facebook, she would also achieve a lot of flexibility by working with other companies without any conflict.

Mark Zuckerberg had not yet directly commented on his sister’s departure though this move by Randi Zuckerberg will surely have an impact since she has been with the social networking company since its early days.
