Looks like Panasonic is about to add to its portfolio of smartphones in India. We’ve just spotted the Panasonic P11 on online retailer Flipkart with a price tag of Rs 16,890. The phone is on pre-order and will be available from the third week of July, according to the listing. In addition, the company has also listed the T11, which is also a quad-core smartphone, but with low-end specs.
Unlike the Panasonic P51 (see our review), which has a sober black and white colour options, the P11 looks like a youth-oriented phone. The only colour option shown is a bright yellow much like Nokia’s yellow for the Lumia range. The P11’s specs are very similar to the Panasonic P51. This one also has a 5-inch display with 1280 x 720 resolution. The processor is a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. The phone will ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and will have 1GB of RAM.
Looke like the P11 will be targetted at youngsters
The primary camera on the P11 is an 8MP one, and there’s a 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter as well. The battery is a decent 2000 mAh unit, but we would have wanted to see a larger capacity battery. Internal memory is capped off at 4GB with an option to expand up to 32GB.
We are very intrigued by Panasonic’s pricing, especially after the P51 was considered overpriced at the launch price of Rs 26,990. We believed it was a marketing tactic, and it sure looks like one, considering the P11 has the same specs as the P51.
The Panasonic T11 is a decidedly low-end device, but with the same powerful quad-core processor. It will have a 4-inch WVGA IPS display, a 5-megapixel main camera, a front-facing 0.3-megapixel camera and a 1500 mAh battery. The T11’s price has not been listed, but it will most likely be under Rs 10,000, considering the specs.
