The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has started a mission where it's urging citizens to take pictures of bus drivers talking on their cell phones while driving and post them to the PMPML's Facebook page. As an incentive, the organization's offering Rs. 1,000 to citizens who post pictures. This is the second time in 3 years the PMPML has taken action for safer roads in Pune.
This effort shows a continuing trend of government agencies using social networking to help make life a little better for the rest of us. On Friday, we reported a mayor in New Jersey using Twitter for disaster management.
