Apart from this, Sony has also launched a range of games dedicated only for this console, which are also available for pre-order.

This portable console fared well in our lab tests and has especially excelled in the hardware department. However, it cannot be stressed enough that the PS Vita is really quite a high priced bit of gaming hardware with a price tag of Rs.19,990 for the Wi-Fi only version. The Wi-Fi +3G model will retail for Rs.24,990. This makes it about Rs. 3000 costlier, than the Sony PlayStation 3, which is available for Rs.16,990. The price of the games for the PS Vita is also seriously high, ranging from Rs.1,500 to over Rs.2,000 for each. The Vita is also backward-comptible with support for games that were made for the PSP, but only that were digitally released. The price of the dedicated games are almost the same as those that are available for the PS3.

Well, weighing the pros and cons of the device, the price seems to be the only crippling factor. If this is not an issue, then one can get a seriously great portable gaming experince with this dedicated device, seeing that the 3DS never offcially made it here. But can it actually compete with the likes to today's mobile and tablet games? It had better, if it hopes to stay at the top of its 'game'.
