Apple's turning on its 'Open for Business' lights on the Mac App Store tomorrow (well, later today for us on this side of GMT) (also, impeccable timing taking attention away from CES) and with it comes a variety of ways we change how we use our machines. A big one is Twitter's launching its official desktop client, simply called 'Twitter for Mac'. Features that have reported to be included are native RT support, real time updates and drag and drop support.
This application was developed by Tweetie developer, Atebits which was acquired by Twitter in the spring of 2010. Given that Twitter recently went through a website restructure which was received with mixed reviews, this application comes at a time when Twitter really needs to up its ratings against desktop clients like Tweetdeck and Echofon. Stay tuned for a review of the application and a general hands-on look at the Mac App store.
