PopCatcher to Launch Personal FM Music App for Mobile Handsets.

Today, a cell phone can do so much that our lives revolve around it. Now here’s another use for it. Popcatcher has just launched a new application that allows you to save commercial free and RJ talk-free songs from any FM radio station for personal use. The application has been developed by Longcheer India and allows users to record music that’s played on FM radio.  It enables users to have a play list full of new music, saved as separate files to be played in the media player for personal use.

“First we are developing a great user interface to let customers experience Pop Catcher in their mobile phones; in the second step we will finalize the solution for third party customers. Right now our focus is to penetrate the huge Indian mobile phone market. After local tests of the PopCatcher software in India we unquestionably see the potential in user experience”, says Jakob Berg, CEO of PopCatcher.

The software technology by PopCatcher used in recording songs works step by step. It first observes programs aired in the radio, then it filters out commercials and radio talk and finally it saves the song. Although the application has not yet been named, it will be launched shortly.
