Polymer Coating with 'Self-Healing' Powers Developed

A polymer-based coating that could heal itself in less than a minute when exposed to ultraviolet light is surely a giant leap forward in technology that makes day-to-day life better. The world now has a bunch of American and Swiss scientists to thank for this feat.

Called the ‘metallo-supramolecular’ polymer coating, this latest piece of innovation seems to be a must have for desktop owners. Also, those who’re constantly worried of their swanky new automobiles or their brand new furniture developing scratches, at the slightest of force can seek solace with this polymer-based coating. An interesting angle was added to this development when the U.S. military affirmed their interest in this innovation. However, Christopher Weder, Director of Fribourg University’s Adolphe Merkle Institute refused to add anymore information to this.
