And just that way, we have with us now Pinterest's freshly updated app for Android. Available for download on the Google Play store, Pinterest has updated its Android application to make group boards better, allowing users to pin with others while on-the-go.
In its version 1.3, the updated Pinterest app now lets you view the contributors, i.e. users can see who else is pinning to a board along with them. Interestingly, now Pinterest users can control the boards which they contribute to. Simply put, they have the option to accept or ignore new board invitations. They can also quit group boards that they were a part of.
Adding a quick note, Pinterest also informs users that the update to the app isn't up on the Kindle app store yet, but it will be there once the review process is over.
Pinterest's Android app updated
The Pinterest app for Android was released sometime in August last year, alongside the iOS app. Using the Pinterest app, users can collect things that they love or are inspired by. Users can pin images, explore pins and boards that are things that they love and get some inspiration from categories like, DIY, Travel, Food etc.
Pinterest even made it to Google’s list of Best Android apps of 2012 alongside Evernote, Expedia and Pocket, to name a few.
Pinterest's update for Android comes close on the heels of the iOS update. The update enables users to edit pins and delete comments. Users can update the description of a pin, change the location of a board or delete a pin altogether. They can also delete any comments they made on Pinterest.
The update brings some performance improvements and a couple of bug fixes. Pinterest stated in a blog post that it has made some behind-the-curtain improvements to the app, which results in smoother scrolling when viewing pins.
Pinterest is trying out a new look that aims to make surfing its website faster and more pleasing to the eye. The company will implement a tweaked navigation panel, bigger pin sizes and more.
Pinterest will be testing this update with a small group of users. You can sign up to be let inside the controlled group. The company says the update will be rolled out to more users after they work out any kinks that could crop up with the new design. With this new update, Pinterest is aiming to keep users more captivated on its website, which is known for its iconic masonry design.
Without revealing too much, the company stated on its blog, “We made the navigation more intuitive, so it’s faster to get to where you want to go.” A look at the screenshots showed that the navigation panel received a big facelift.
