The latest WS802C-2G Penta T-Pad from the Pantel Technologies aims to appeal to a consumers varying from avid gamers and busy professionals. The Penta T-Pad WS802C-2G comes with an inbuilt SIM slot, Wi-Fi, 3G USB dongle. The WS802C-2G comes with an 8-inch multi-touch capacitive screen, 1.2GHz processor, 1GB DDR3 RAM, and 8GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB. The device is set to cost Rs 8,299.
A keyboard with an inbuilt stereo-phonic speaker system has been designed specifically for this device. Priced at Rs 1,499, this accessory converts the device into a laptop. Widgets, and connectivity options such as host and mini USB, HDMI Port, and Bluetooth, ensure portability and compatibility with other devices. The Penta T-Pad WS802C-2G comes pre-loaded with many popular applications, which include Facebook, Skype, and Angry Birds. The tablet comes with a 5000mAh battery and 3D graphics accelerator.

Speaking on the occasion, Vijender Singh, MD, Pantel Technologies, expressed, “This latest product, introduced in India for the first time, the Penta T-Pad WS802C Voice calling tablet PC, with a unique accessory and multiple connectivity options at an affordable price of Rs 8,299, is an initiative to bring more excitement and enhanced capability for our customers in this ever evolving market-place.”
The company has a reverse data bundling alliance with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, to jointly address the data and ICT needs of Indian consumers by launching data plans bundled with a range of Internet tablets in the Penta T-Pads series. A special launch consumer promotion is being launched with the Penta T-Pad WS802C-2G; a BSNL SIM Card of 4GB data with two-month validity is being given free with the tablet PC.
Earlier this month, Pantel had launched the country's cheapest tablets in eastern India. The company aims to achieve sales figures of 10,000 tablets per month from West Bengal alone in the coming months.
"Penta T-pads are India's most affordable capacitive touch screen WiFi-enabled tablets starting with just Rs 3,999. We hope to achieve a sales figure of 10,000 tabs per month in Bengal alone in the next six months," Vivek Prakash, director PTPL, told mediapersons here. The company is targeting specific verticals like healthcare and education and would be forging tie ups.
"We are working closely with specific verticals like healthcare, education, information management systems etc, to provide accessibility of enterprise level data for consumption on our tabs," said Prakash.
