Oppo R11 S opens for registration in China ahead of 2 November launch; to come in an 18:9 aspect ratio

Ahead of its launch on 2 November, Oppo R11 S specifications have been revealed on the company’s official website in China.

The phone is now available for registration and comes in three colour variants, Champagne, Black, and Red. It also includes a special Star Screen red, where the red colour continues to be under the front glass.

According to Oppo’s Chinese website, as reported by GSMArena, the Oppo R11 S 64GB model comes at a price of 3,000 CNY. This is approximately Rs 29,000 in the Indian currency.

Meanwhile, it has also been reported that it is powered by Snapdragon 660 chipset and includes 4 GB of RAM. It also sports a dual camera at the rear. It has a 6-inch display, with 1080x2160 resolution in an 18:9 aspect ratio. Considering its attempt in the bezel-less trend, this Oppo model does not sport any buttons on the front. The 6-inch display remains unchanged from the Oppo R11 Plus. The Oppo R11 had a 5.5 inch, 16:9 display.

When it comes to pricing, Oppo R11 S is priced slightly lower than the Oppo R11 Plus, which was priced at CNY 3,699 (approximately Rs 35,000), while R11 was priced at CNY 2,999 (approximately 28,500).

The Oppo R11 Plus had featured a 6-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD resolution along with a large 4,000 mAh battery while the Oppo R11 was packed with a 5-inch display coupled with a 3,500 mAh battery. Both run on Android 7.1 Nougat with Oppo's native Color OS.

Oppo is also expected to launch the Oppo F5 on the same day. The smartphone is expected to be powered by the 'AI Beauty Recognition Mode', where it will use artificial intelligence for selfies.

Rumour has it that the OnePlus 5T will use the R11 S as a template.
