The Chinese handset maker has started sending out invites to an event on 8 August. The invite shows the contours of the R11 in the colours of the Catalan football club. An FC Barcelona logo on the top right corner further confirms things.

While the internals of the phone will most likely remain unchanged, one can expect an FC Barcelona themed user interface as well as club logos on the rear.

As has been the case with previous FC Barcelona edition Oppo phones, expect a premium price tag.

The Oppo R11, which was launched early last month, is the first phone to come with the newly-announced Snapdragon 660 processor. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 processor comes with eight cores and is clocked at 2.2 GHz. The other highlight of the phone is the dual-camera system at the back which sits along with an LED flash at the top-left corner of the back. The cameras feature a 16 MP wide-angle lens and a 20 MP telephoto lens using Sony’s IMX398 sensor. The phone offers 2x optical zoom powered by the Qualcomm Spectra Image Sensor Processor, which is present on the Snapdragon 660.

The processor is paired with 4 GB of RAM and the internal storage is set at 64 GB. The smartphone will run on Android 7.1 Nougat with Color OS on top. JD.com has listed three R11 variants in three colours which include from Rose Gold, Black and Champagne Gold.
