Excitement for the upcoming OnePlus flagship is building up. From specifications, to design and press renders, almost everything about the handset has slowly leaked. The company will be announcing the new OnePlus 5 on 20 June and the India launch is scheduled just two days after.
A new leak has now given us the most important detail of the smartphone, the price. According to a leak coming from Finland suggests that the upcoming OnePlus 5 cost around EUR 550 which is roughly about Rs 39,000.
Before we get down to conclusions, let us tell you that the leaked pricing comes in a very unconventional way. As part of Provinssi annual music festival contest OnePlus is offering a OnePlus 5 smartphone as well as two three-day VIP passes to the music event. The organisers of the music festival have disclosed the total pricing of the price which has come out to be EUR 948 (Rs 69,000 approx). The cost of a VIP pass for the event EUR 199, and if we deduct the cost of two from the total value, it comes down to EUR 550, as pointed out on a post on OnePlus forums. Of course, this is a far-fetched prediction.
There have been predictions of the pricing being slightly higher price than the OnePlus 3T but this is a bit more than what we predicted. Maybe a Rs 35,000 price mark would certainly be justified.
The OnePLus 5 is expected to feature the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, 8 GB of RAM, a dual-camera setup, a similar 5.5-inch 1080p display and a design similar to the Apple iPhone 7 Plus.
