OnePlus 5 launch imminent as the company announces the ‘Last Chance’ to buy a OnePlus 3T

OnePlus has announced that OnePlus 3T is almost out of stock in a post on the company forums. The company tweeted last night informing its followers that this could be the ‘Last Chance’ to buy the OnePlus 3T from the store. OnePlus 3T is only available till current stocks last which could hint at the company discontinuing the smartphone. The company confirmed that this applies to the stock sold on the OnePlus store in North America, Europe and Hong Kong. This directly hints at the fact that the launch of OnePlus 5 is around the corner after a number of leaks about the specifications. The timeline of the launch matches what we expect from the smartphone maker.

This comes right after OnePlus posted a blog post talking about the performance on OnePlus 5. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau, shared the post on the OnePlus Forums while confirming that the upcoming smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. The CEO went on to explain that the smartphone maker is working hard to optimise the performance of the processor in the upcoming smartphone for a better experience.

In terms of specifications, a tweet by Evan Blass, reveals that the smartphone will come with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 clocked at 2.3 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 64 GB internal storage and an external memory card support, accepting cards of up to 128 GB. The specifications point out that the smartphone will come with a 5.5-inch 4K display panel with an effective resolution of 2560×1440. The smartphone will be powered by an bumped up 4000 mAh non-removable battery as reported previously.

OnePlus 5 is expected to come with Android Nougat 7.1 out of the box along with 4G-enabled Dual nano SIM card slots. The company has also packed 23 MP camera module on the back along with 16 MP camera module on the front.
