The stereo-3D video in plug-in is the first in its space and is being used by Microsoft Media Platform (MMP). This technology by NVIDIA follows the same technology that had been used in NVIDIA 3D web property. With the help of the open source v2.5 (Silverlight media) framework, it will now be easier to incorporate world-class 3D technology in the web-based media player applications. With the 3D technology coming to the fore of viewing experience, this move by Nvidia would revolutionize media playing technology, since no video streaming website, ever before has deployed 3D stereo video streaming facilities.

Although, this technology does sound interesting to us, there always has been a cloud of doubt when it comes to the application of 3D into everyday technology. All we could hope is Nvidia and Microsoft create magic together.
