Google’s Android Operating System works on a number of devices, ranging from mobile phones to tablets. PMPs were recently added to the mix, now that Google are ready to give out Android Market certifications to devices without cellular radios. But this latest Android-powered device takes the cake. It’s an IPTV set top box!
Android Community reports that IN Media have announced a set top box that will be powered by Android 2.2 Froyo. The device will also be able to play games and create widgets, all this in addition to streaming media to your television. Web applications will also work, and the device will be able to connect seamlessly to any other Android phone or tablet.
All this is well and good, but the company hasn’t revealed anything about the set top box aside its existence. There are no pictures, pricing details or news on when it is expected to come out. So, take this one with plenty of salt.
