Just a couple of days ago, when Siri was asked which smartphone she thought was the best ever - she promptly replied that it was the newly launched, Nokia Lumia 900 and the voice-assistant even went as far as specifying that it was the cyan-coloured, 4G version of the Nokia Lumia 900 with AT&T that was the best smartphone ever. Now, however, it seems like Siri has changed her mind, and a tad too soon; and sure enough no longer thinks that the Nokia Lumia 900 is the best smartphone ever. Sydney Morning Herald now reports that when recently asked about the best smartphone ever, Siri replied, "The one you're holding," or "You're kidding, right?", signaling that she has gone back to her old ways, and Nokia is not pleased one bit. In her statement, according to this report, Nokia spokeswoman Tracy Postill stated that, “Apple position Siri as the intelligent system that's there to help, but clearly if they don't like the answer, they override the software.” Apple, however, is yet to confirm if they have altered Siri's response in any way.
Siri changes her version!
The report adds that Siri touting the Lumia 900 as the best smartphone ever was a bug, and Apple jumped in quickly to repair it. Interestingly, WolphramAlpha, the search engine that Siri uses to return search results to the queries put to her, and also to calculate the best response to any given question, does not feature the iPhone 4S (the only iPhone version Siri is currently available on) on its list of the best smartphone, until number 14. According to this report, Nokia Lumia 900 has been rated the best smartphone ever on offer by WolphramAlpha based on customer reviews.
Siri's answer the last time..
The revelation that came last week turned to be a real head-turner, since it had Apple's loyal voice-assistant pick rival Nokia's newly launched Lumia 900 as the best smartphone ever. However, re-iterating what as mentioned in our previous report, Siri, at the end of the day is just a software with responses only as good as the questions asked, and as much as the data held in the backend. Infact, in our previous report, citing a reference to a report by Geekosystem, it had been mentioned that when Siri was asked "Do you know what Nokia is", Siri interpreted the question as "Do you know what Nukea is" and answered "This is about you, not me."
